Six six six is the number of the beast (aka the devil) as stated in the bible. People do forget that is was also an amount of money that came to Solomon in one year. But primarily, the focus is on it being the devils number. Often 666 signifies evil and therefore is a mark on the child Damien, in the movie "the Omen". they released it on 6-6-06 as a bit of a publicity thing. The verses are below:

it's supposed to be the sign of the devil. A devil-child is born on that day, and he's got a birthmark on the back of his head with 666. Unless you have a child with a 666 birthmark on the back of his head, I wouldn't worry about it.
