Batch process is quicker since you run in parallel, whereas continuous process is serial so slower.

There are inefficiencies associated with batch production. The production equipment must be stopped, re-configured, and its output tested before the next batch can be produced.
There are several advantages of batch production; it can reduce initial capital outlay because a single production line can be used to produce several products. As shown in the example, batch production can be useful for small businesses who cannot afford to run continuous production lines. Also, companies can use batch production as a trial run. If a retailer buys a batch of a product and people do not buy them then the producer can cease production without having to sustain huge losses.
Main advantage of continuous production is ease of automation.

A batch process does the run at once, it is slower than the continuous process but should be chosen depending on the nature of your the work itself. If you deal with employee payout for example, then you don't need to do a continuous process but if you deal with a quick updated feature, then you need to do so.

Yes I filed on 1/30/2013 and accepted the same day. My DD to my checking account is for 2/13/2013. I think it is the luck of the draw when they process the returns. My girlfriend did her's on 2/1/2013 and it is still being processed.

Batch process is better for shift work and quality control, but it's slower and needs more energy in starting off each process.

Well I know a batch process you can perform auto updates easier VS a continuous process which you have to stop and restart.

Well, one disadvantage of batch process (if you are doing a job in the process) is that its the same thing over and over. Its just repetetive...

the only thing i can think of is the ability to make more diverse types of products. One more good thing is ... that is if the whole plant shuts down, your unit is safe. the other units are scampering around trying to safe everything and have a long process to start everything back up.... when in a batch unit all you do i pick up where you left off.
however the unit outside guys. have more work to do in a batch unit... constanly changing charge lines and pump out lines and such.
i work in a batch unit.
