Well misty its just the society we live in. there are a load of selfish people around, only and always thinking for just the-selves.
but they don't seem to realise, that there turn will come where they will just get the same kick as yourself.
i have to say i have a soft spot for the oldies. my grandparents died a few years back. they both lived till a good age. sadly though my father never did live to see his old age,... so misty don't take to heart what others do, or say. Just be proud that you are where you are today.... live your life...

That's not true for me. I care about all of my friends and relatives the same regardless of age and make friends depending on personality, not age. As for society, yes, it is too youth-obsessed! Hello, Lindsay. Hi, Paris. And what is there on the other side of the spectrum? Cher and Joan Rivers. Hollywood stars, I've noticed, do not age well.

We live in a youth-obsessed society. Sadly, it was created largely by marketers. If we started seeing commercials about how prestigious and important it is to be old, we might see a change. But that won't happen. We have it backward in America, really.

I love older people. Seniors ROCK ! They totally rule. Remember they used to be hell raisers in the 50 and 60's. They haven't changed. Just wiser. They are a wealth of information.Seniors rule ! Mick Jagger, Elton John.....ect.

Because youth is glamorous and there is no tradition of respect for elders.
Notice that I don't have an avatar? Curious why? It's because gray is not one of the hair color choices. Even Yahoo Answers assumes that if you're not young, you're not worth bothering about.

well its coz that every person is caught up in there own world that they becum selfish and don't care bout other but themsevles. everyone is rude and selfish in there own way but thats how it is.

I LOVE THE OLD PEOPLE HELL MY SONS ARE GETTING OLD SO I HAVE TO LOVE THEM . THEIR 41&43 AND I'M 65
