I remember it very clearly. It was the episode they killed off Ned's Wife. I remember the news about the silly dispute they had over air fare for the woman who did her voice. I thought that firing her and killing off Ned's wife and removing all the other characters she did voice for was mean spirited. Anyway, the entire season after that started to suck. Obviously the production crew was completely demoralized by the whole event and stopped doing quality work. It never fully recovered from that season.

I remember having a friend in college who thought the lemon tree episode was hilarious (this is when it was a brand-new episode). I didn't get to see it until about 2 or 3 years later, due to my crazy schedule of working 2 jobs since college, and I thought it was terrible. So I guess that's when they jumped the shark for me.
I still watch them though- I think they're more consistent with their out-of-left-field humor than Family Guy (which is too regional) or American Dad (seriously, who can believe that a fish is in love with a woman? Though I don't seem to have that problem with Brian the dog dating women on Family Guy... huh, weird. But I'm rambling...).
Jump the shark isn't a new phrase. There's a website called www.jumptheshark.com actually- learned about it a few years ago.

Not yet.
The Simpsons will jump the shark for me when they have Homer, or possibly Bart, actually dressed in a Fonzie leather jacket water skiing and jumping a shark in a tank.

Go suck a c*ck. The Simpsons have not jumped shark. There are some episodes that are duds, but they have not jumped shark. If you don't like watching, change the damn channel, but don't force your opinion on everyone else just because you don't like the show.

They have had a few clunkers, like when Homer found out a new friend of the family was gay and they tried to make a point with that episode.(I tune in to laugh not to "learn") It still makes my lol, although not as much. I don't think it's jumped the shark yet(that saying has though)

I disagree, It hasn't happened yet. The thing I like most about "The Simpsons" is that they retain NO memories of what happened from season to season, or for that matter from show to show. Every show starts with a clean slate. My favorite is probably when Homer pledged money to PBS and skipped out without paying. "HELP ME, JEEBUS" There is always something that is never fully exposed on the surface that is just hysterical.

i'm sorry, yet did no longer Democrats administration the two residences of Congress from 2007 via 2010? and then the Senate on account that then? did no longer Democrats administration the Presidency on account that 2008? meaning, Democrats have controlled a minimum of two of the three elected branches of government for the final 6 years, and all 3 for 2 of those years. You act like Democrats had no longer something to do with any of this?
