you need to be putting peroxide on it a few times a day...it can turn into a keloid and be there forever. It sounds like it is really infected...my 3 girls all had theirs pierced and I had to take them all out...good luck with that!

Remove the piercing. Your baby doesn't have a strong immune system yet. It can turn into a serious infection and you can't cure it at home. She will need antibiotics. Non- professional ear piercing places have no proper equipment to safely sterilize their guns. You can contract hepatitis B or C. Any professional piercer will advise against gun piercings. I had lots of piercings and studied a bit about it. Professional piercing places have an autoclave machine that they use to sterilize all tools. It kills everything. I would take your daughter to the doctor right away. First take the earing out and put Bactine on it. Go now.

How old is she? When you get something pierced today, they tell you to use bactine, instead of peroxide. Peroxide closes the hole. Peroxide is good for scratches and other things, but not for piercings. Soak it with warm water, or wash cloth. See if you can soften it, and see if it pops with a little help from you. Then wash it again really well. Try the bactine, or go to your doctors, and see what they say about it. Also who did the piercing. Could be what ever they used was not cleaned properly. Or she could be haing a reaction to what ever metal the ear ring is made out of.

My belly button got infected, and I had to go to silver or gold. Could not use what they gave me.
So try thses things, or just take her to the doctor. Good luck with it, and hope she gets better.

I have been given my ears pierced at 13. I purely found out over 10 years later that they used an 18g. So think of the painful technique of stretching my lobes to a 2g! purely ask em for the time-honored beginner's piercing length.

Dont listen to others negativity about piercing baby girls ears. Its totally fine and its each own persons choice to get it done (i too have my daughter's ears pierced).

But this red blood ball on her ear, i would honestly get her a visit with her pediatrician. Until you can get an appointment, follow others instructions on using the peroxide, but he or she will more closely be able to examine and determine if the earring needs to be removed, or if soley the peroxide will help to heal this.

Best of luck and i'm sure she looks BEAUTIFUL!

:)

How old is she? You have to ask Doctor if a baby can get their ears pierced and a Doctor has to do it. She can have an infection she needs to go to the hospital.

Clean out the ear using peroxide on the earring, and then put neosporin on the earring and stick it back in her ear. That should clear it up. Good Luck!

Maybe the earring is on too tight or she got pireced in the wrong spot??? You may end up having to take them out and let it pop or heal up. Id hate for hers to get infected. For her and you, that would make your day just a bit more difficult. Be careful and watch it or call your babies physician.

Why don't you try waiting until your baby can make her own decision about wanting her body pierced for decorative purposes. Then you wouldn't have to worry about an infants piercing being infected.

Don't let the earrings get to tight, and they will if you are not careful! Take her to the doc just in case.
