Nowadays, a lot of it is on computers. I'm not sure if companies still do it, but it used to be that they'd paint the background, color the cells in with special markers, and combine the two together. It's a lot of hard work, either way, for the little pay their get.

most use things like photoshop or illustrato to color them now. Others however use the cell method in which you use print a part of the picture on a sheet os acetate and then color the back side. after it dries you put it back on top of the background and photograph it. that is the basis of disney's clasic animation and the intent of people who do cell shading

i know when i color it it looks crappy, but the way they're lines differ in thick and thin.

don't know... they would proboaly use the computer paintshop thingy to get it colored and make it prettyful (somebody kill me i said prettyful)
