i have a gateway desktop pc.the soundcard ac'97 intel cant be found anymore.and it has no sound.when i try and click on sound or volume it freezes,the box is checked for the sound icon to be
displayed but it is not.and also the volume is on low and is shaded out so i cant djust the sound.please help me,and i dont understand too much computer talk,so if you could explain it or email me ,thanx so much and GOD BLESS YOU!!

aha...its seem your driver for sound card is missing..now try this

-go to www.driverguides.com
-sign in(if u dont have resgistry yet)
-then choose what type of drive you want to download(either sound card,network or anything)
-or in the seacrh box,type your sound card model/brand/series..and automatically it will seacrh..download it..

Being that the above people probably answered you question correctly, I'm going to tell you to stop using a cardboard box with stick people drawn in crayon as a monitor.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Computer Management then click Device Manager then expand "Sound, video and game controllers' then click on your driver and then troubleshoot.

reset your pc click start shut down and then unplug it 4 like 60 seconds and then plug it back in n then start it up (make sure the speakers are pluged n and on
