It's not stupid. There is nothing wrong with learning. The more knowledge you have, the better off you will be. Teenage boys are extremle immature and you shouldn't put too much stock in what they say.

Well, boys are stupid. I'm just kidding, but teachers aren't "doing us a disfavor," at least in my opinion they're not. The boys are probably Christian, or have a strong faith in some religion, but they're being completely obnoxious. One cannot simply say that evolution teachings is "stupid," all because it's a theory. Isn't Jesus a "theory", in a way? All religions have never been proven to be true, they are simply beliefs. By teaching evolution, teachers are doing what they are supposed to do: teaching they're students different ideas and challenging their views in order for the kids to decide what they personally think is correct. At my school, no one thinks evolution teachings is stupid, and they are all open to the idea. You can't expect the teachers to simply not teach anything about the theories of evolution (although in some states the teaching of evolution is banned which I believe is completely ridiculous). Students trust their teachers to teach everything, not omit certain topics out all because it "might not be true." There might not be a "God," the Bible might just be a big hoax, but Christianity is taught, isn't it? So anyways, teachers are actually doing a favor by teaching about evolution and those boys are just ignorant and narrow-minded.

The teachers are certainly not trying to do you a disfavor. What they are trying to do is open up your mind to considering both of the two main theories — evolution and creation. It never hurts to think about different theories, even if they are not the ones that you personally believe in. Perhaps it may give you a better understanding of those who do believe in evolution, and give you an understanding of what the evolution theory is.

The teachers are obeying the law and teaching what they are supposed to teach. most believe it is true anyway.
I doubt that jesus gave it much thought and I know he never spoke about evolution or creation. it was just not important to him Buddha thought the same. who cares? what is important is how we live, not how we were "created'.
Jesus was more concerned with spiritual salvation than science of biology.
The teachers are NOT doing anyone a disfavor. Those young squirts need to learn science so stop using religion as an excuse to stay stupid.

Even if evolution isn't true, they're still teaching you how to think scientifically. That means you're trying to find evidence to support your theories, you're observing, inferring, and testing what you think is right to see if indeed it is right. I think learning that will get you much further in life then blindly accepting some very unexplainable things that can only be explained on faith i.e. the bible and creationism. It is not a disfavor as you put it.

Part of the stupidity is that they find it stupid. Evolution is as much of a possibility as "God", or a "creator". Its only what they're comfortable with because its what they've been taught since birth. If you had been told since you were a toddler, that man evolved from primates, you'd figure it to be fact, and you'd mock anyone who stated differently. That's what the boys you're speaking of are doing. They do not know better. There's an old cliche; Ignorance is bliss. For your own mind, keep an open one. Search all possibilities. Once, people believed that the world was flat, and they would have set themselves on fire to convince others, well, not everyone fell for it, did they?

Teachers are teaching you the knowledge you need to succeed in live and succeed in college. If there are boys in your school who think it's stupid, then that's too bad for them. They will be less able to compete later in life. Most religions have no difficulty with evolution and don't see it as a competition threatening the supremacy of GOD. Up until college, boys are stupid in general. You just have to bear with it until they get older. Trust me, it takes a while.

evolution is a theory (that's why they call it the theory of evolution), and as such, it's not something we can prove or disprove. teachers are doing a disservice to their students if they teach that theory (or any theory) as fact, or deny that there could be other answers.
thus far, evolution seems to be the closest we can get to the truth, but that doesn't mean we won't find something else someday in the future.

The Theory of Evolution is only a theory. Teachers have to teach it, but they can't say it's factual, they have to say it's a theory. Learning that there are many "schools of thought" on a topic is teaching you how to think for yourselves.

The teachers are just showing you all the options that could be out there and it is up to each student to make up their own minds about what you believe in.
