Gay live? I mean really , I have friends that are Gay and I would chose them over a Christian anyday cause they live life to love and not to criticize. As for abortion, women will go to the back woods to get those , as in the alcohol, people made it in bath tubs. They put these bills through to kill people is what they do, think about it. This bill is just like the bill against the vitamin industry. Are these just control freaks that cant stand to have anyone be happy, healthy or just maybe make money the honest way. How many of these that sign this bill do you think have closet sex? The Truth now! Please no more gay bashing , cause that is why I put this in the gay catagory and not the Religion one.Remember some gays do believe in your God too! Not what some dissed monk wrote in a book!

Opinionated has his/her name down pat. It must be wonderful to be so full of yourself.
Bush is the World's biggest jerk. The gay marriage deal is nothing short of trying to divert attention from his miserable administration from hell.

I believe that Bush is just stalling the inevitable that gay men and women will one day be able to show their commitment to each other through the act of marriage. It should not matter if the oppsites sexes fall in love or the same sexes. Love does not discriminate. People do.
It's almost insanely ignorant to think that anyone has the right to judge another to the point that you'd put them in a little iron box just because of their sexual orientation.
But I still have hope for the future of all gay men and women. That someday we will be free.

No, Bush's bill will not pass nor make any real impact on society. It is just a political ploy to get conservative christian voters out to the voting booths.
Gay marriage is inevitable and rightly so. 40 years ago interacial couples couldnt marry, 100 years ago deaf people couldn;t marry, and it was always based on religous or procreatove purposes.
Marriage is not a religous institution, if it were atheosts would not be able to get married. All sinners can get married...a man can molest a 12 year old child, go to jail get out and marry...hell they can even marry the 12 year old girl as long as shes of legal age . Does that make sense?
Marriage is a fundamental right of every citizen. And it will be legal for gays to marry, so get used to it.

Just to comment on this part of your question, did you know that in one of the dakota's they passed a law banning abortion and if you gave up the parental right of a child that was the result of the rape, the rapist could gain parental rights.
I was outraged. I don't believe in abortion, which is weird because I believe in the death penalty. I suppose working in a daycare gives me a bias. But that was the sickest thing I had ever heard.

i don't think it will change anything, you can ban gay marriage but u cant ban being gay, and i don't think the sanctity of marriage is in anyway compromised by the gay community, i think what compromises marriage is these people who get married for 5 hours, why is no one screaming about that? and abortion is still gonna go on, people will just go to Mexico and Canada or have back street abortions and even more people will die! it's stupid to think these laws will change anything, and why should they? there is nothing wrong with being gay and in love and wanting to declare that love to the rest of the world. and as 4 abortion that should be each individual woman's choice, if u don't like abortion that's fine don't have, one but no one has any right to tell another woman what she can and cannot do with her own body!

Yes, I believe that gays are people too, and that they deserve to be treated like people, and that they should be loved. But gay marriage is against nature, why are there both men and women and not just men or not just women? Its because nature intends men and women to be united marriage, not men and men, or women and women. Not all people against gay marriage hate gays......
As for abortion, the women who had unprotected sex made that choice. An innocent child should not die because mommy made a mistake in conceiving it. It will drive some women to have dangerous abortions, but it will also save the lives of some innocent children for women who choose not to go through dangerous abortions.

When politicians faces the heat from the nation, the easiest way to wiggle out of it is to distract them by focusing other issue. Gay and lesbain issues for the last quater of a century has been use over and over again by some politicians to side tract the real important agendas the nation faces. Yet like dogs most voters again and again happyly chasing and retrieving the same stick that this politicians throw over and over again!!

Wow, that last answer was off the track. The main reason for this law is really economic. It has to do with insurance, trusts etc Also we must remember this country was founded on Christian principles, and our economy depends on this staying that way. When the marriages fall apart, our economy does too. Without children how can our country go on?.

nope. But it isn't about changing people, so much as it is controlling and forcing one viewpoint, one paradigm (which is a fancy word for system) onto everyone. The sarifice of individuality doesn't bother the supporters of this kind of intolerant viewpoint because they don't believe that individualism is a good thing. Conformity is preached in the churches, ignorance is part of the doctrine, and judgement is a part of the dogma.

I agree but its just another way to take away our rights and mark us a s second class citizens. The problem is there are so many of us and most of us own companies and or are bosses at many of the places that homophobes work and play. I just want rights so my family can't come and take the things myself and my partner have aquired. Other than that it sould not matter to anyone else.

The reason you do not understand is because you seem to be oblivious that we were created by a Moral God. You need to go here and read why people of faith see this as wrong. Nature speaks against it.
