High protein diet is the main cause, You should go to the pathologist to get your uric acid tested. The amount of uric acid when it is nearer to 10 is dangerous, Below 5 is normal. Uric acid starts accumulating in joints that causes gouts, It can also harm kidneys. It is best to avoid taking high protein diets such as Milk & Milk products, Animal protiens such as Non-Veg diet like Chicken, Pulses, Tomato etc. Once you start taking medicine you will have to continue it for the life as your body will become habitual. My best advice is to restrict protein diets. My uric acid was 8.7 and I controlled it with my diet and regular yoga.

The most common treatments for an acute attack of gout are high doses of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) taken orally (by mouth) or corticosteroids, which are taken orally or injected into the affected joint.

Here's a lot of info on causes and treatments:

The honey and sugar scrub will help get rid of the flaky skin. Then use organic coconut oil (put in a small (preferably glass)container you can keep with you) every 30 minutes or so till less dry. Then as needed. You can add a drop or two of Young Living lavender essential oil to the cc oil--I don't trust any other EO. Drink lots of water, and DON'T lick your lips.
