The water is blue because the color of the sky is blue. Water is really clear (or dirty looking). The skys reflection is just shown on the surface of the water.

Water's not blue. It's clear. When it's in a pool, it reflects the sky, thus tricking us into thinking it's blue. If it's in a jacuzzi or spa, it can reflect red, green, blue, gold, etc, depending on the color of the jacuzzi or spa's color.

because it reflects the sky and the sky is blue. if water is brown it has mud in it. if water is green chances are it has algae in it. but water is blue because of the sky. the water itself is not actually blue...if it really is blue please don't drink it.
