they don't. countries fight over power, over money, and over resources. those who direct the fighting, who actually cause the wars, don't care about religion. religion is just a convenient excuse for them to stir up hate and bigotry, which NO religion condones.

None of the religions calls for war. Even Koran- the Muslim holy book calls for peace ( jihad is only the way one should protect his religion from invaders). The people which live today are fundamentalists. These are fanatics who while killing for religion forget that it calls for peace. The less people think this way and the more believe in something individually the better will people live. Religion is intimate feeling which must be kept in once self. organized religion is something more dangerous than atomic bomb. And all this is because some people are underdeveloped and blind to certain things.

Because they're bored by themselves mostly and need a reason to argue and religion is a good excuse as any. On a serious note though, religion is an important part of a person's upbringing and most of us take pride in that so basically a nice way to hit hard at someone is religion.

Why do countries fight at all? Why are there rich and poor people? Why do things like religion, race, nationality or political beliefs are used to divide people and control them?

These are very simple and fundamental questions that we may ask as children, but that then we stop asking as we grow up. It's a mistake. Sometimes children are more insightful and sincere than the rest of us adults.
Never stop asking and questioning!

Fight over religion. Which countries are you talking about? I haven't heard of a religious war in a long time. It's been centuries, in fact.

Wars are not fought over religion, they are fought for land, wealth, greed and fear. The "leaders" use religion to rile the population to fight the wars to make them rich. Most people would not fight to make their leaders rich but they would fight for their GOD. Just as the Crusades were NOT fought for religion but rather to halt the advance of the Moors into Europe.

I agree with you. Those are the religious freaks who love to tell YOU what to do, but when a child protection agency shows up on their doorstep they scream bloody murder and start taking passages of the bible out of context!

I can live in harmony with any religion if they keep religion out of politics, their hands off of little boys, and their own little morality that they want to lay on someone else.

some people say muslims are terrorist.i dont agree.terrorist can be found in any religion. Was hitler a muslim?? Terrorism is only because of some people who wants to rule the world, they think they are God.they fight for power and money. If we compare the number of people killed during iraq war with the number of people killed in 9/11.we can see how great is the number of people who died in iraq war.God is watching us all,he will take the revenge.
