If you're a student, you should apply for a student credit card. These types of credit cards are designed for students that have limited credit history. Some issuers to consider: Citibank, Chase, and Discover

If you are not a student, then try to apply for a regular unsecured credit card. Since most big brand names require some credit history. Try these: Capital One, HSBC/Orchard Bank, and Aspire.

Best decision possible is do NOT get any credit card.

Save for what you want, credit cards are not required to live well, and they are a nightmare waiting to happen.

Just say no.

The best credit card is no credit card at all. Use your debit card and save up for big purchases.

If you need to buy something you don't have enough cash for, save money until you do. Don't get credit cards.
