If its their 6th or 3rd wedding buy a small gift and don't bother with cash or gift cards. I'm sure they've received many a present in the past. They don't need more.

I've seen friends of mine get both, cash and card. But I'd go with a Gift Card. Of course, make sure it's a place they love to go to :)

Did you give gifts for any of their previous weddings? If I'm not close to the people, and I've previously gifted either of them for previous weddings, I'd give them a congratulatory card and no gift.

If you are really close to the people, and want to give them a gift, I'd ask them if they are registered anywhere, and give a gift from the registry.

personally, I think after I've bought a gift for someone's first wedding, I wouldn't buy them gifts for subsequent weddings. But that's just me.

I would say cash...if you get a gift certificate they might not like the store or might have things fromt here already...with cash other things can be paid for that they might need..im getting married soon...so i speak from experience..i need some cash
