theyr'e talking about her song "Rapture"

if she was the first rapper then why did she say in her song, "FAB 5 FREDDY told me everybody's fly, d-jay spins and i say my, my"?

....who the hell do you think FAB 5 FREDDY was????..

there were many rab artists and groups way before Blondie came out with Rapture.....

....sorry...... fab 5 freddy was a rapper way before mtv decided to put rap on the air.

but fab 5 freddy was a rapper and had a single out called change the beat. years before blondie did rapture.

and people do say to me that blondie was the first rapper....otherwise i would not have posted the question.

Fab 5 Freddy was a grafitti artist at the time. This was confirmed by him, and evidenced as he was doing a grafitti mural in the video. As far as I know people do not credit Blondie with the first rap, nor do they say that themselves.

They were the first artist to place a song containing elements of rap to the top of the Hot 100.

OK FAB FIVE Freddy is a guy associated w/ the early rap scene if you find old MTV raps clips you will see him uh!!!! the Blondie thang well she was the first ( I think ) white woman to crossover and do rap

Would tend to think as you pointed out that she sang "Rapture". She was more of the so-called (believe it or not) 'lighter punk' or new-wave type music...it is hard to figure who recorded the first 'rap' song as when it started out, it was just someone speaking with mostly rhymes and extra percussion in the music...(or so it seemed)
