The same unreliable sources that indicted Bonds as a steroid user cited other players specifically, while Ken Caminiti went as far to say 50% of MLB players have used steroids? Give Bonds a break, because most likely some of your favorite players have experimented with steroids. Fans that carry around asteriks look more foolish than those that applaud him for they support a great baseball player and somebody who bended the rules, in which strict sanctions did not exist when Bonds took the steroids, along with presumably hundreds of other players.

Justin great question! Too bad all the other people answering the question are really GAYYYYYYYY. The only reason Bonds is being ridiculed is because hes a "black athlete" and nothing else. If he was white , like Jason Giambi, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Everyone seems to forget that Giambi took steroids too, he was even voted comeback player of the year. If O.J. can get away with murder, then why can't Sonny have his kid? (Points at a black man) That guy knows what I am talking about. No more questions.

Bonds is the most publicized because his steroid use has put him in a situation that he would not have been in without the use of steroids. He would not have had this many home runs if he hadn't juiced up. Have you seen the pictures of what he looked like when he started in the Major Leagues? The scrawny Bonds would not have the power to hit as many home runs. Another reason is he is selfish and playing the game only to break the home run record. If he doesn't hit a home run he jogs, he doesn't care if his team wins or loses. This is a bad message being sent to younger athletes today - use steroids and you will be a star, regardless of your overall playing ability. He is glamorizing the use of steroids.

My innovations are that Barry Bonds made a real fact. Steroids or no longer, Miguel Cabrera isn't presently the hitter that Barry Bonds became from 2000-2004. In those 5 years, Bonds averaged a line of .339 / .535 / .781 / a million.316 and gained 4 without delay NL MVP Awards. This twelve months Miguel Cabrera is hitting .387 / .457 / .659 / a million.116 interior the path of the 1st 2 months of the 2013 season, and final twelve months he hit .330 / .393 / .606 / .999. Miguel Cabrera gained a triple crown final twelve months, which Bonds in no way did, yet it is as a results of the fact no person pitched to Bonds, and consequently he could no longer amass the RBIs. From 2000-2004, Bonds averaged 174 BB consistent with season, which comprise an universal of sixty one IBB consistent with season. final twelve months while Miguel Cabrera gained the triple crown, he became walked basically sixty six situations and became walked intentionally 17 situations. And Cabrera is genuinely harmless till shown to blame, yet in reality that we don't be responsive to for a actuality that he or the different participant is sparkling. basically bear in mind that persons used to assert that Manny Ramirez became a great organic hitter, a organic hitter. between the main suitable organic stunning-exceeded hitters they had ever considered. no person ever suspected that he have been doing something. Manny basically enjoyed to bypass out and hit, "Manny being Manny." And all of us observed what got here approximately with him. back, i'm no longer accusing Miguel Cabrera of something. he's harmless till got here across to blame, and no person has any information of him cheating. besides, i'm basically asserting that Barry Bonds became a extra perfect hitter from 2000-2004 than Miguel Cabrera is now. that is a actuality. He would have been on steroids, and Miguel Cabrera won't be, even yet it would not exchange the reality that Bonds became a extra perfect hitter.

Give him a break? Maybe if he had admitted to the public that he actually knew what he was taking instead of saying that he didn't know. Greg Anderson (his trainer and KNOWN steroid user/seller at World's Gym) was giving him steroids and you expect us to believe that it was a complete accident that a man in his 40s is at his peak performance AND getting bigger?

Is it normal for a grown man in his late 30s-early 40s to become the size of a linebacker in literally 2-3 years? Other players fessed up to using steroids but Bonds has always played his "poor me" side with the media or just been a complete @$$hole to everyone INCLUDING the fans. He doesn't care about the fans, he cares only about himself.

We'll see how many Giants fans there are when Barry's a DH in the AL.......

he is not the only one....if you think back their was a long period of time when jose conseco was ridculed for it and so was that mark guy that played for the cardinals.....it not that he use steroids that is the issue because I am sure others do it too, the problem with barry bonds is his career has been too successful for the big whigs not to think that the steroids played a factor in his success. That becomes a big deal because he would no longer be a player that could be looked up to. This is because anyone could take steroids and excell more than usual in strength and athletic ability.

Let me very clear about this first statement. It's not a black issue. He's the only one the "won't go away". The other like Big Mac & Swinging Sammy Sosa have all rode off into the sunset, never to be heard from. Bonds, being who he is has set himself up for this by being "himself" down the years. Now, baseball and the media can finally say "we got him!"

If Bonds would just go away, they would leave him alone. I really believe that. On the other hand, someone needs to explain how baseball knew this was a problem for a long time but did nothing about it. As long as mac & Sosa was making money with the long ball for the sport, it was all good. No harm, no foul.

Now that questions are being asked, baseball is hanging folks out to dry. They are the are criminals if you ask me.

I like Bonds. He's just who he is. He's not fake. You know what you're getting with him. It's other athlets like Jordan that get away with real murder. As long as they like you, you're cool. If they don't like you for whatever reason, you're in for it.

See Mark Cuban for the negatives of the media not liking you and George "Babe" Ruth for a case of when they do like you.

Just my opinion.

Because he has broken countless records that he wouldnt have broken without steroid use. Dont get me wrong i think he's an outstanding player he always was but theres no way a guy would get that big in a span of 1 or 2 years by weight lifting, i just dont buy his crap. Alos he just passed Ruth on the all time Hr list, thats why it has esculated even more. But as far as throwing asterisks and things like that is just a bunch of drunk guys or girls who dont know what there doing. Thats just over the line.

You make some good points, but Bonds doesn't deserve a break. I believe he was singled out more because he isn't liked by the media and because he's threatening big records, but he should be punished for cheating as should the others that cheated along with him. And someone should investigate Pujols. He was absolutely nothing in the minors and suddenly he's hitting more HRs than anyone, but it appears MLB has annointed him their new saviour, so his name is never brought up when talking about steroids.

He isn't the only one. There are a huge list. The reason he is the most ridculed is because he is the most obvious look at the pictures of him when he played for the Pirates then when he started using steroids he got huge. His hair line receded at an early age becasue of it and so he shaved his head. And when most likley if he is found of using steroids by the court then he will and should be banned from the hall of fame.

First off he was named, second he is high profile, third he carries himself off as the end all be all of baseball, fourth he is a racest, and most importantly he didn't need to do it, some of the other need to use steroids Bond should have been in the hall of fame but now he may not be in because of this.

Barry Bonds is certainly NOT the only player to be accused of steriods and to be publicly ridiculed. Jose Conseco, Jason Giambi, and many others have been accused.

However, Barry bonds is singled out because his record breaking hitting, which means he is receiving accolades for something that many people feel he didn't earn.
