Honestly I can only see one way. To deploy a massive force in Iraq. We would have to triple (at the very least) the troops and equipment already there. We would have to establish a very unpopular Marshall law, having a huge presence on EVERY street corner. Once the "insurgent" attacks subside, we would have to put the government on a fast track to developing the massive infrastructure needed to protect itself from domestic threats.
I don't any way shape or form condon this war but we started it now we must finish it and try to "make things right".

We can't, that's why we weren't ever supposed to go over there! That was what I was saying when they were on the news talking about going. WHY? What will we do there? Even if we kill Saddam what then? What was it, 1400 ppl died last month from insurgents? Saddam didn't kill that many people monthly, he did kill the Kurds, but why not go over there while it is happening? Not years later! We made it a worse country, and we made it worse to be a citizen of Earth, cause the war will continue no matter what happens now. It will continue on the soil of every country from now until mankind is destroyed. And what is worse, Bush and all these conservatives still think it was best to go over there. No it wasn't! Democrats have issues, but at least they admit when they make a mistake and then try to fix it. How many leaders of African nations were worse than Suddam? Several. How about Iran? That's someone you need to worry about. How about North Korea, again, you want to go to war, they are a good choice.

The war in Iraq is now replacing Vietnam. It is joining the Boer War in 1899 and the Suez crisis in 1956 as ill-considered ventures that have done Britain more harm than good. It has demonstrably strengthened al-Qa'ida by providing it with a large pool of activists and sympathisers across the Muslim world it did not possess before the invasion of 2003. The war, which started out as a demonstration of US strength as the world's only superpower, has turned into a demonstration of weakness. Its 135,000-strong army only controls the so called “green zone” in Baghdad.
The Mujahideen campaign in Iraq is unique. Never before have so many young Muslims been willing to kill themselves, trying to destroy their enemies. The Iraq war has radicalised a significant part of the Muslim world. The Mujahideen have paralysed Baghdad. The country has never been so dangerous as today for the racist crusaders. The Mujahideen, or rather the defences against them, have altered the appearance of Baghdad. US and Shite racist crusaders army positions in Baghdad are surrounded by ramparts of enormous cement blocks which snake through the city. Manufactured in different sizes, these concrete megaliths are strangling the city by closing off so many streets. For all the newspaper and television coverage of Iraq, the foreign media still fail to convey the lethal and anarchic quality of day-to-day living. The same quality of make-believe mars British and American policy in Iraq. The current motto of both governments is to "stay the course in Iraq". This may be useful propaganda at home but Iraqi government officials counter that London and Washington have no "course" in Iraq, only a policy of endless zig-zags. The US and Britain pretended in 2003 that Saddam ruled a powerful state capable of menacing his neighbours. Secretly they believed this was untrue and expected an easy victory. Now in 2006 they find to their horror that there are people in Iraq more truly dangerous than Saddam, and they are mired in an un-winnable conflict that will “slowly but, surely” lead to their defeat.

My solution is for you to hop in the time machine and go back lets say 45 years and you can kill Saddam. This would solve the present day problem better than anything else you can do.Well you could take your crying a-s-s over there and find the meanest terrorist you can find and offer yourself in trade for all the others he plans on killing and with any luck you will take all the other bleeding heart liberal cry baby's with you.

Either get in an international peace keeping force, or get the Iraqi security forces trained up enough to maintain order. We cant just leave and let the Sunni's, Shi'ites, and Kurds all kill eachother by the millions- its amazing how many racists and Arab haters in the world would love to see that happen.

by admitting publicly that the war was wrong based on false information, and then begging for forgiveness. Other leaders have been charged with crimes against humanity for similar acts. I can think of someone I'd love to volunteer up.

Those people have been under a dictatorship too long. They can only be controlled by a brutal, violent dictator. So, we need to reinstall a depot, then convince him to gradually allow more and more freedom.
