Speaking as someone who's worked in both law enforcement as well as public assistance, it's a little more complicated than that. Many times someone's "best efforts" are obviously not very good at all.

There is a saying that says, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.". In other words, if someone continues to make bad decisions they will continue to have bad things happen to them.

Consider someone who has had one bad relationship after another. They continue to do the same thing over and over again expecting that THIS time things will be different yet, it almost never is.

Another example would be a person who smokes cigarettes, gets cancer, and then say's that they can't figure out why it happened to them.

No one is a loser. Some may not be as smart as others,
some may not have applied themselves as they should have, but they are not losers. I am sure those who have tried hard are working today, those who did not apply themselves maybe working as well too perhaps at a lesser paying position. It doesn't make them a loser. Now they know they should have done this or that and perhaps they are working toward that now.

There is absolutely NO WAY that someone can be a loser when they have given it their best effort. Whoever told you this is STUPID!!!! Don't you believe that for ONE moment. Everyone is special and unique, and when people give it their best effort to be something, then that is all they can do. Why punish themselves by calling themself a loser. They are better off than the rest of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because of their best efforts GOD is protecting them and helping them from harm by those who think they are better than others. Best efforts are not a loss. They help people to learn from their mistakes as well as opening new doors away from those who they thought were good friends or more......:o)

This makes them the winners.....(@!@)

Some people just have bad luck generally . . . but that doesn't make them losers. Have you ever those this way? If someone continuously loses . . . then perhaps they are winners in that they lose more than others?
