You can do it! You need the XBox 360 with a hard drive. If you have a hard drive go to this page: http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/games/backwardscompatibility.htm#disc

Not true to the first guy to answer. Any XBOX360 will play certain XBOX games, but to see which games are currently backwards compatible you have to check www.xbox.com. Plus, you'll have to have XBOX Live to download the patch to be able to play the game. Each 360 comes with the patch for Halo and Halo2 already.

it depends on which one you bought. If you bought the $300 version it cannot be done. ONly the $400 xbox 360 has the backward compatiblity. Otherwise just place the game inside the tray and play. there are no options if you have the right xbox360

It also depends on which game you're trying to play. There is a limited list of backwards compatibile games you can play on the 360.

You can however I've been told that you can only play microsoft games like halo, halo2! you might need ahard drive and if you cant play old games(you can becouse i have one and i tried) you maght be able if you buy the program or download it of xboxlive!!!! I think........

that means that either your 360 is f**ked or that the games u are playing are f**ked up too
