The stop in the sink is also stuck and won't come out. It won't close (to keep water in the sink) and it won't come out.

everybody has this problem once in a while. the plunger sounds the best but when you do this you should take one of those plastic grocery bags and plug the overflow ports on the sink, also put the stopper in the tub with some water and another plastic bag stuffed in the tub overflow port. this creates a closed line now so the plunger can plunge the air sufficantly, have some water in the sink also to make the seal on the plunger.OR do you have a wet vac or shopvac with all ports pluged you can also suck the drain out but then you have todump the stinky mess in the toliet or youcould use the exhaust from the wet vac to blow the clog through ps the stopper is attached in the pipe by the lift arm

You could try a liquid instead of the crystals, which may get more stuff out. Also, under your sink is probably a pipe that is either an "S" Shape or a "U" you could take that off and see what was in there.

This is a very common place for big clogs.

once the pipe is off, you can try to push out any clog between the drain and that pipe.

However, taking off and putting the s bend pipe back on can take a little elbow grease, and if you rent, this is somehting you should ask your landlord to do

There might be something in there that can't be removed with the use of chemicals. Try pipe cleaners. Click the link below to find them:
http://www.alltheinternet.com/texis/open/all?p=all&q=%22%5Cpipe+cleaners%22
If that doesn't work, there may be some objects stuck somewhere in the pipes, such as pieces of plastic, pipe cleaners that are stuck down there, etc.

P.S. Get a plumber to open up the pipes to get the junk out of there.

you probably have a hairball in it. underneath your sink you will see what is called a trap. it is a series of pipe bends that makes a sideways P shape. there should be threaded nuts on either end that you can remove to drop the bend. you can clean the bend and also up in the pipe to the drain with a stick or screwdriver. remove any clogs and it should flow free. prepare for the smell, it can be bad.

If I can picture your stop right, it has a rubber thing under it as a seal and a button on top eh? Probably need to replace the stop.

As for the drainage, try a different product, or you may have to do it mechanically, using a plunger or a 'snake'...call a plumber if all else fails...they're used to this sort of problem.

Can't help you about the sink stop, but to unclog it, go to Menard's. They sell a professional grade drain cleaner that works VERY well. If I am not mistaken, it is guaranteed to work or your money back.

You should just snake it out instead of taking things apart. You can by a small snake for not a lot of money or for only a few dollars you can rent one. Check with the local hardware stores to find out where you can rent one and you will be set. No need to hire a plummer at this point.

try a screwdriver to get the plug out
then I would think maybe you have to turn the water off and undo the pipe at the bottom where the pipe turns upward. Maybe there is something stuck in the pipe that Dran-o cannot dissolve.

to unclog it you may have to get under it and unscrew the elbow to clean that out...sometimes draino just doesnt get everything..it isn't too much of a hard job....just uncomfortable trying to get there if you have a vanity. Good Luck

you may have to take the trap off (below the counter) also there should be a thing on the back side of the drain pipe, you can unscrew and take the stopper out
