One should be concerned about anyone doing "black magic rituals" .. not because it is real and not because of any religious beliefs but because of the simple fact that the person doing the ritual is wishing harm on others. When their ritual doesn't work they may, very well, try other more direct approaches to do harm.

Black magic rituals are real, but whether or not your sister is involved with authentic practitioners...who knows. In a way its not relevant, because you won't be able to "prove" that she's being silly--especially if you've already made your standpoint of being a skeptic known. She's probably drawn to this group because she already feels alienated from the mainstream and powerless--your attempts to portray them as "very alien and x-file" will only push her deeper into the group, and away from you and your attempts to help her.
Depending on her age, I'd be concerned about her being exploited by any one claiming to have any sort of religious or mystical authority over her. Also in her being involved in anything that's illegal or could hurt her (or any living creature.) Maybe if you talk to her about this in an unjudgemental way she can at least appreciate that you have her wellbeing at heart, and that you've got her back no matter what.

Is it Black Magic or is an ignorant person considering any magic as black? There are alot of people that do magic, but the vast majority are using the magic for healing and good. Most of it is just working with nature, good energy, various dieties, etc. It's only scary to those who don't understand or don't want to understand because it doesn't fit their thinking.
By the way, there have only been rare cases of murders being linked to supposed black magic and those are committed by what would be called Posers today. This had nothing at all to do with real magic.

Magic (got this from a witch) is a mix of psychology, drugs, psycedelics, psycho sexual psychology (think how the ladies can get guys to do what they want).
Little to worry about. The science and chemistry and drug elements should work. ie Haitian zombies are people that were drugged with something ton slow their hearts to simulate death and may have brain damage as a result.
Most new age, wicken witch types are far better morrally and saner then christians.
When's the last time you heard of witch wars on how to do spells like the christians and the catholics?
How about how daft it is burning alive millions for healing the sick?
Wickens and witchs and new agers tend not to be nasty and sexist, homophobic or hate sex and see it as dirty.
People with open attiudes to sex are often smarter and nicer. Compare say Holland or Woodstock many islamic countries or the holy land, deep south America or Northern Ireland.
This is comming from an athiest ex catholic.
A magic find love spell may just be a 'dumbos magic feather 'like placebo effect.
Remember most of what we see as science or normal was once considered withccraft by the fearful, ignorant superstitious scum who murdered to local nice sweet doctors and vets..
Anything black is the above but most likely in response to ill treatment in the past ie bullying or eagerness for power. Little different to anything else.
Prayers and spells are pretty much the same thing. What you do in church. Ceremonies and rituals and words is the same sort of thing.
So no REAL magic.
If she is worried about people making spells agaisnt her she should think why anyone would not like her. Ie what she do to them first.
Its christianity that was evil not the witches and has more in common with 'devil worship' look at the inquisitions.
Witches were hippies who did not have a problem with sex and saw it as a good thing at one with nature.

Forget the church or anything to do with it, they won't help cos according to the church all magik is black. Right...now that's over with lets start from the beginning magic has been long practiced and still is to this day by those who follow the pagan faith. I myself am Pagan. In short the differences are Christians follow God and all that is God, Pagans follow the All powerful Goddess and her white magik drawing on the powers of mother nature; God and heavens opposite is the devil and hell, whilst the goddess opposite is black magik. Basically don't have anything to do with black magik!! It's powerful and dangerous! For protection you need to find a pagan/wiccan preistess/preist they will guide you. The best way to find one is to probably do a search in your area, go to a spiritual shop, the sort of place where you can buy tarot cards should be of some help. This is a serious matter and I worry for your sister so don't take it lightly. If you need any further help let me know and I'll try to help further
Good luck, Blessed be x

to participate of things like that, such as Black magic, isn't the best thing to do to pass time, or have a good time, many peoples that do such things they like to impress others or they are cheap imitators, trying to recruit others and convince few of the apparent powers or gifts they have. though in general there are mainly tricks, though even white magic can only be done, by superior being, entities, and truly educate masters in the Arts of Magic. This is not voodoo hope, at any rate B-e- c-a-r-e-f-u-l don't allow your sister to see much more of that because such individuals are looking specifically for peoples that can be easily impress, So, you see, if your personality isn't so, and you are more stronger than your sister, she may need you in this case more of what you may need her?. or she my also be scare for you too, as well that went you don't want nothing happen to her, you which the same, for her. So the true is that the choices we take in life could and would affect our future, and you may have a choice to take. I which I can say more though lol.., I know you get the grid, magic isn't basically healthy for no one, there are bad and negatives energies waiting for the good energies to fall to use then. don't let then use you or your mind nor your sister nor your sisters mind, or innocence. Be-careful

Be careful. People performing black magic rituals may be mentally unbalanced, regardless of whether or not the black magic works.
It's almost impossible for you to PROVE to her that she is being silly if she believes in black magic. The best protection is separation. If it is at all possible, sever all ties with the black magic practitioners. I would suggest that you may need to go so far as to move far enough away that they won't follow you.
If you can't move, you should pursue all legal and clerical options available to get away from the evil, including restraining orders, church attendance, blessing of your house apt., etc.

It can be real, but if it's just a bunch of kids goofing, then it's not. As far as protection goes, it's mainly about attitude. I'd have to know what the actual intent was, but there are some general protective spells that are easy for the beginner here.
http://www.sacredhearth.com/Spirituality/Ritual/protectspell.html
But it's still all about attitude. If your belief that they can't hurt you is stronger than their belief that they can, then they can't. Or your sister's or whatever.

Demons are very real. Most people performing "black magic rituals" are not. However, I do believe they open up the door to evil spirits and that's the kind of thing one just shouldn't take chances with.
The good news is that demons are even more accutely aware of the power of Jesus than we are. Plead the blood of Christ over your family and seek guidance from your church.

When I was in Hs there were a couple of people particpating in black magic. lighting candles and saying spells, nothing ever happened. yes, they said love spells but whenyour hs it's not hard to find a bf, they didn't become rich, or go on to live some fasniating life, they are normal like me and you, point is it's not real. Things will happen if people believe in it. it's a mind game. How old is your sister? Tell her to stay away from these people and tell her it's a bunch of heuy!!
