This is really awful, but my friend and I wanted to go to the mall (back in high school) but I had to work, so she called me at work all hysterical for my co-workers who answered the phone and pretended that her parents had been in a car accident and she needed me to get to the hospital with her. So I got to leave early. And we went to the mall. And I felt bad. There's a lot easier ways to go about it though, are you a girl? Say you started your period and didn't have anything with you. This might work if you're a boy too, ya never know.

1. My alarm monitoring company just called. There has been a report from my house and I need to go meet the police.
2. My ice maker went out - I have an appointment to meet the repair person between 2:00 and 6:00.
3. Little Johhny's school just called. He threw up all over himself and I have to go get him.

If your boss is a guy, use the period angle- guys don't want to hear about it. Or you could say your landlord/roommate/husband called and your water line broke and you need to go save your ____________. Fill in the blank.
