What kind of supplies? Are you looking for used furniture itself? If so, the classifieds (penny papers are the cheapest) are a good place to start both placing an ad indicating you buy used furniture and responding to ads for used furniture. You can always find bargains on ebay but most amateurs aren't willing to ship so if you limit your ebay search to a particular area within driving distance you should come across some bargains. (You can also post "wanted now" items on ebay and people with used furniture can then find you) If you are a little more adventuress, there are hundreds of auctions around the country where you can bid on used furniture. I make my living buying industrial equipment at auction and reselling it locally. Don't forget government auctions, Storage facility and yard/garage sales. Why wait for the auction, visit the storage facilities in your area and let them know you will buy any furniture that is left abandoned!

If you have the time, I also love to hit my neighborhood on trash day. It is amazing what people throw out. In fact, I recovered a whole patio set that only needed a little sanding and new paint and it looks like new!
