There is in fact a difference between inmigrants and what some may call "illegal".
Let me tell you of some "illegal" things Americans do in our own countries:
- Tourists come down here with a normal visa (our country allows them 90 a day visa), but when they find they like it here, they sneak around the system, leave the country for 24 hours and come right back in again for another 90 days and so on and on...Some Americans end up staying "ilegally" for years!!!!!!!!! And of course, our Governments look the other way because for some strange inexplicable reason they think that challenging a Nation that makes war on small countries who don't do what they say may not be a very good idea.
- (this has been denounced by organisations at international rights bodies) American chemical and farmaceutical companies "disguise" their tech personnel as tourists, explore our flora and fauna, extract roots and herbs from our rainforests...then go back to the U.S, they patent their findings (for which they never got a license, permission or paid any dues at all, in the first place) and make millions on the thing,,,then by way of some magic, through patent protection make it "illegal" for our own people to ever use those herbs and roots unless they "pay" the big American Corporation their patent rights!! Can you get more cinical and illegal than that?? Sometimes corruption is disguised as something seems legal, but it is still corruption!!

- American inmigrants in my country don't pay taxes, but they do find a way of making profits through several on-the-side businesses and mechanisms, bribing Government officials and managing their businesses through what is called "name-lenders". These are people in public offices or individuals to whom they "pay" (bribe) to lend their names by registering their businesses under their name, but all the profits and real management goes to the American owner (profits, by the way, never stay in the country but end up in U.S bank accounts). Now is that LEGAL??? of course not!!

- Some Americans have been held responsible (not yet accountable) for child prostitution and drug dealings in our countries. There is a network of child prostitution in our region that is led by some American and European mobsters. IS THAT LEGAL???

So, if we compare ILLEGALITIES.... ha, ha, ha, Americans who do illegal stuff in our countries get the gold medal!!

Americans who are quick to point a finger at someone working illegally in the U.S, should be more carefull and better informed before opening their mouth... the backfire could be worse!!

Latin America may be poverty stricken, underdeveloped and economically dependant, but we are wise enough to see what is going on.

I am an immigrant, and I do not think American people hate immigrants. But illegal immigrants first of all break law by illegally entering this country. People prefer law and order. That may be why they do not like illegals.

They don't...as a group...almost ALL Americans were, at one time or another, immigrants! The 'hate' that you are hearing about is focused on "illegal" immigrants. Those that are doing the hating (not all of 'us' do) are angry that some people are beating the 'system.'

because we have a lot of them. I live in the U.S., and I don't hate immigrants, but I also understand that we have more immigrants and a more diverse population than anywhere else in the world, and that takes a lot of tolerance and understanding, which is difficult for some people. Where are you from?

They come over here take our jobs, abuse the welfare system, don't speak our laguage, don't pay taxes and expect us to embrace them when they get caught. They don't take pride in America.
If you are here illegally then go back. Its illegal. If Americans break the law we face consequences.

the problem is the illegal ones just want us to let them in BECAUSE.. basically they want to come to our country and snub their noses at our laws and just let us let them in. that is the issue.. if we were to go to THEIR country and try that. you think they wouldn't laugh us out of the country?? how stupid is that.

we don't.

but we don't want the ILLEGAL ones here 'cause they disobey our laws. it disrupts our system of justice, our system of the economy, and our system of taxes and licenses to drive.

simple as that!!!
