what if u a friend that just right out lied to your face could ever trust him?

he told me he gave someone money for something i ask the person they said no he didn't i went back to him told what the guy said . so we all got together and confronted him and he said no i didn't say that and tried to make it look like i was the bad guy. but everyone knew he was telling a lie after we left the room he tells me i can't believe u went back and told him. It really was anything he had to lie about

No. If he would lie about this I would assume he would lie about many other things as well. I hate liars.
