WOW, "imisidro" did a better lineup of information than what I had!
I'm going through a similar process of looking into starting a business. Your area small business administration office is the place to start for developing a business plan, budgeting, etc., and you can talk to a real person too if that's what you need.
Check out the Sirolli site too, below, to get more information.
You'll need some sort of "fixed" location for reasons of having a business license, reporting taxes, getting supplies for your studio, mailing out direct mail advertising, etc. If you don't want to use your home adders for legal reasons, or you might be moving, or ..., consider getting a P. O. Box. Better yet, consider getting a box at a place like "Mailboxes Etc.," "UPS" Store," etc.

If you are applying for funding, this will matter and may be the same as your primary residence. For billing, certainly obtain an address, I'd suggest a PO Box if you don't want clients coming to your home. You will need to disclose your "home base" to lenders, and it is completely acceptable for this type of business to have it be your home. With regards to writing a business plan, the SBA funds consulting centers call SBDCs (Small Business Development Centers). They are often located on or near university campuses and can be located on the internet.
