I am doing a paper for school and I really find it astonshing with the use of putting children on Ritalin knowing all the side effects out there.

Ritalin is not for everyone. It is for kids who are incapacitiated by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It can be a risk worth taking for kids who cannot function or are miserable because of the disorder. I do agree that it is overused, and sometimes given to kids who don't really need it. That is a shame.
