If you are looking for plain instrumental tunes of well known songs (or anything else for that matter), you'll be better off searching for sites which offer midi files for download.
Midi files are very small music files which do not have any vocals in them and as such are instrumental.
Hundreds of sites offer midi files for free ...
You can search on any of the search engines for midi files ...
This is a good place to start

PS: Midi files play on Windows Media Player, Winamp and most of the popular music playing software
Also, if you have a good synthesizer, you can upload your midi files to that too :)

Depends on what kind of instrumental music you're looking for. There are radio stations online that have these sorts of things.
