Who could be sure, but i guess, hate is a very strong feeling and it's not usable for everyday sensations, or situations.
I guess men are more tendencious to have that feeling, since they usually are more impulsive, and tend to not analize so much the feelings.
And women are more tendencious to put into the other shoes, and to forgive and forget more easylli.
I'm not saying it's exclusive for men, but you asked more common.

I think women tend to hate other women a lot more than men ever do other men (real hate, not just your average ribbing). But that's just my experience as a female. We seem to have a higher capacity for viciousness.

Women that hate other women. I have had women make up the worst stories about me without ever even knowing me because they were jealous of something stupid like that.
Another example is that women often do not want their friends to date their exes, but men do not seem to have problems with their friends wanting to date their ex-girlfriends.
If they are not seeing them anymore, what does it matter?
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". There are no sayings like this regarding men!

Women that hate other women. Our society, which is rapidly absorbing other societies, places a premium on superficial qualities. Qualities that women especially are forced to either don or reject at their peril. And women are more vindictive then men.
