It happens everywhere..because there are a- holes everywhere.
I'm Irish living in the US legally and have heard people actually say oh we don't mean the Irish we mean the one's that can't speak English..
The Irish went through the same thing in the UK in the 50's and there are imigrants in Ireland hearing it now.
People need to be aware of their own histories and maybe they wouldn't be so ignorant.

We say it because it is like someone coming over to your house for a visit and then all they do is talk about how they hate how you decorated the place, or complain that you had to hold down the handle too long to get the toilet to flush or that the food you served was too salty or greasy or any other complaint. If you don't like it: leave, because this is my house and that is my food and if you want to be here you will be happy with what I have to offer in my home and deal with the rest quietly without complaining, because no house/dinner/country is perfect. Basically, we're trying to say: TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.

It's like the morons who buy a home near an airport - and as a result get a great deal - and then they turn around and complain about the noise. Why did you think you were getting a great deal? Didn't you know the airport was there when you bought the place? If you don't like it, you can move, because you can't expect the airport to move.

Actually, no it isn't said in most other countries. Those are usually the right wing Repugs. As you can tall, they have no place for freedom of speech or tolerance for anyone elses belief. They are the only ones who count.

The ironic thing, almost all have never served this country in the military.

"It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of—and the allegations—by people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble—that means not tell the truth."
—Bush answers a question about Amnesty International's report on abuse in U.S. war prisons. (President's Press Conference, May 31, 2005, White House transcript)

Nobody is forced to stay in this country. I have heard people (mainly latinos and arabs) saying how much they hate this country and "spit on its people" and things to that affect. So if they feel that way, why stay here? There is a big world out there with lots of other countries they can go to if they want to.

If they feel the country they came from is so much better, why not go back there?

It is used in a lot of countries. In fact I have traveled extensively and there is no better place for opportunity and success then in the US. If you feel that you can do better or that it is so terrible here, then do not stay. We are not telling you to leave, we are just trying to give you advise that will make you happier!

Narrow mindedness! Many people firmly believe that certain things "can't happen here", and anyone who disagrees with them is invading a "comfort zone" and should "leave". Those same people are convinced that no matter how bad things are or may become in the US, "everywhere else is worse". They may be right sometimes, but always???

Because it's an easy way to express how they feel without having to elaborate and being politically incorrect and exposing they're racist attitude. I am a white American male and I am open-minded enough to see that racism exists in a big way today. But as they also always say, "Ignorance is bliss.".

Because no one is forced to stay here. If you don't like it, get out! Speaking of this, I remember millions of people flaunting the "If Bush is reelected, I'm moving to Canada" phrase in 2004. How come they're still here? Did they forget it's now 2006? See ya!

NO it is a honest answer. If some one dose not like a place why stay. If all you are going to do is complain. If I was not happy I would leave and find some place I like. Why be unhappy.
