Yes it is reliable and safe. But as with any system tool is best to check online resources before making any changes that are found in Spybots Advanced section.

I have found that Spybot working alongside Ad Aware remove the majority of spyware/adware. But neither are proactive. I am currently testing(?) Ewido as my antispyware and so far it has trapped everything!!

All spyware scanners are only as good as their latest updates. Microsoft Defender didn't even detect My Web Search and Fun Web Products, which every other scanner picked up immediately!! If you 'understand' Spybot, stay with it.

Yes it is. It is not the end all but works great and is simple to use.

If you are using shareware or some freeware, it may stop it from working. But the adware and spyware will be gone. Also get two or three other free removal tools.
AdAware SE and SpyBot Search & Destroy work well for most common removals.

Spybot - search & destroy is very good but i like Spyware Doctor
better

spybot is the best anti-spyware program out there and its free
its reliable and very safe to use,just remember to keep it updated

Yes it is supposed to be reliable & safe as well as being free. The other good one is Adaware which is also free. It is recommended to use both of these.

good program but as always if you have xp disconnect system restore first go to start control panel.addministrative tools services scrool down to system restore stop service.tur it back on after your done scanning your cpu a virus or other malicious software will elude your scan with sys restore on. good luck......
