2) I had the same thing happen to me, except that we were only together nine months & then he dumped me without even giving me a reason. I think he was scared of getting to close, because then he tried to come back a few months later. Too bad for him! It does not mean that I was completely over him, but my theory is that if it did not work the first time, it is not going to work the second time. He broke a trust & for me that is the most important thing in a relationship.
It took me five years to get over him completely! Then it was just because I met someone even better.
I know it is a cliche, but time does heal all wounds---but finder a new love helps it along faster!

Unfortunately, 4 years is not something you will forget. So, until you can accept him as a person and not an ex, all you can do is distance yourself and allow your heart time to heal.Be prepared for al those rotten feelings that make a broken heart so hard to handle, but take the time to come to terms with why it didn't work (without blaming yourself or him), then when you are ready, try developing a friendship. When you do that you know you'll be ok and there will be room to truly find Mr. Right.

I'm sorry to hear that you've broken up.
No, time is really the only thing that will really help you forget, but they're are other things that will help on a lesser level, and they are the good ol' standbys in my book.
1.) Your friends. Always there to help you.
2.) Lots of ice cream. Always a cheery treat.
3.) Movies and music. Always a good temporary escape.
4.) When you're ready, after some time, when you feel upto it again, a new boyfriend can help (if you get the right type of guy) chase your blues away.

Well, I have been in a similar situation...and the only thing that can heal a broken heart is time...and I had to learn that the hard way. But if you really still love him try talking to him and if he wont listen you dont need him...

I know this sounds lame, but only giving it time will help. You might never forget him completely. I have someone who has haunted my thoughts for more years than I care to count. A lot of times now the thoughts can make me happy, if they are memories of good times we had together. Other times, when the thoughts are bad, they make me remember why we are not together.
