What is the difference between conception and conceiving? What is the difference between between conception, conceiving, fertilization, ovulation and implantation? When do they occur? Or what order do they each occur? Is it Ovulation, then Fertilization, then Conception and finally Implantation? What are some of the signs and symptoms of these? Can anyone tell me when implantation really begins after Ovulation? I hope someone can answer all of these questions for me. I am very curious especially on the implantation. How many days after Ovulation does implantation occur. Thank you for all of your answers. They are greatly appreciated!

I am 28 y/o. I am already a mother of an 8 1/2 y/o. It just has been so long. I am just wanting to know some of the differences. I am looking forward to being pregnant again, its just I am kinna actually in a hurry to find out. I have had sex on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and my ovulation day was yesterday which was June 5, 2006. Today is June 6, 2006, and I just want to know if I am now pregnant or not. I really dont want to wait for a week or two. So if anyone knows when implantation occurs after ovulation, please let me know. Also, shouldnt you be able to test for pregnancy after the implantation??

Conception and conceiving are the same.
Fertilization is when the sperm meets the egg and gets inside. (another word for conception)
Implantation is after the sperm meets the egg and gets inside the egg (I think what is formed is called a zygote, but I'm not sure.), this little "zygote" buries itself into the uterine wall.
The order in which they occur is: ovulation, conception (or fertilization...whichever you prefer to call it) then implantation.
The only one that I'm aware of having a symptom is implantation. Some women may have a spot or two of bleeding when the fertilized egg buries itself in the uterine wall. It's called (surprise!) implantation spotting.
If you are on a regular 28-day cycle, you would ovulate on, let's say, days 14 - 16. About a week or so after you have sex (lets say you had sex on the 15th) the fertilized egg would implant itself.
For a timeline:
Period starts May 1.
Period ends May 7.
Ovulation occurs on May 15.
Sex on May 15.
Fertilization on May 16.
Implantation on May 23.

K.. medically speaking, this is the way it goes. First ovulation, then conception or conceiving (fertilization- they are the same things), then implantation. Conception and conceiving are the same thing- only in a different tense. Conception is the act of conceiving and conceiving is present tense. For implantation, some women don't even know that it has happened, same with ovulation. Some women have cramps with ovulation, some don't, same with implantation. Some women bleed when implantation occurs, but only spotting.
To explain implantation and ovulation, we have to go back and talk about the whole cycle. Most women's cycles are between 24-28 days long. Starting the first day of your period and ending the day before the next one starts. Ovulation usually takes place between the 14-17th day. If a woman has unprotected sex between those 3-4 days, it's possible that the egg will get fertilized and implantation will occur.
For fertilization to happen, the egg is usually in the Fallopian tubes. It takes 3-4 days to travel to the uterus, by then, the zygote (that's what they call a baby when it isn't more then a few cells) is only between 8-10 cells. At this point, the egg will attach its self to the wall of the uterus and from there, pregnancy will progress.
I hope this answers your question!!

conception and conceiving - same thing
fertilization - begins when a sperm penetrates an oocyte (an egg) and it ends with the creation.
ovulation - between periods when you can get pregnant
implantation - Approximately 8 days after ovulation, if pregnant, the blastocyst (as the baby is classified at this stage) begins to secrete a hormone that enables it to burrow into the lining of the uterus. ... then begin to form.
Occurs: Ovulate, Conceive/Conception, Fertilize, Implantation
Symptoms:
Ovulation - changes in cervical fluids, bbt, minor cramps in some people
Conception/Conceiving, Fertilization, and Implantation - you will not feel these things happening but you may start to get symptoms of pregnancy; tender/sore breasts, increase in smells, upset stomack, tire easier, gas/heartburn, missed period etc...
Implantation usually occurs about 8 days after conception

There is a colossal change. A dog demands burglary. You cannot do this if you're away eight hours an afternoon. A dog demands to be socialized. You cannot do this if you're no longer residence. A dog demands plenty of time and concentration for the duration of the day to give up it fitting distructive. If you're at paintings all day the one strategy to prevent the distruction is to go away it in a crate all day. By the time it turns into a puppy it will have to already be housebroken and feature extra manipulate of it is physically features so but it might probably move from the time you move to paintings till the time you get residence. A puppy will have to be socialized by the point it is a puppy and not a dog. A puppy in general might alternatively sleep all day and be able for play and concentration whilst it is proprietor will get residence. It will have to even be proficient so it would possibly not be distructive as soon as you're long gone so it would possibly not have got to be left in a crate for eight hours an afternoon.

Implantation generally occurs 7-10 days after ovulation. The earliest I personally know of someone getting a positive on their pregnancy test is 13 dpo (though I've read elsewhere some get it as early as 11 dpo). Great websites for TTC are http://www.fertilityfriend.com and http://www.babycenter.com

Normally fertilization takes place in the falopian tubes, the newly fertilized egg travels down the tube and implants into the uterine wall. Conception takes place, the moment the egg is fertized by the sperm.
