I have a better one, my old aunts who were Catholic used to turn St Theresa around and tell her to find the item or she would face the wall forever. They insisted she never was turned around for a long period.

Actually, you repeat the item you have lost. For example, Keys keys, keys and somehow or other the keys will show up. Try it.
