You may be able to get support from your county.

In Fairfax County, Virginia for example, they have a "Child Care Assistance and Referral (CCAR) program that provides financial assistance for child care to low and moderate income Fairfax County families who are working, or who are in education/training programs and need assistance with paying for the cost of child care. The program pays for child care in centers, family child care homes, or School-Age Child Care (SACC)." http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/ofc/CCAR.htm

Check with your county if they have a similar assistance program

Check w/ the county. There are grants and such simular to food stamps that will definately benefit you. Where they pay a portion of the childcare rate. I'm not sure what criteria you would have to meet though (as far as income, etc)

Also try checking w/ your school. A lot of the community colleges will either provide on site sitting at no cost, or allow you to bring your child to class with you (as long as they are like 5 and above and can behave themselves) If you decide to go that route -- talk w/ your professor or the administrative office at your school... they probably have many different outlets for you to try. They want you to go to school -- so they will help you in any way they can.

Good Luck :)

I'm not sure if you can get financial help while you are attending school, but daycare costs are tax deductible if you and your spouse are both working or one of you is in school or looking for employment. Make sure you send your child to someone who claims the income so you can claim the deduction next year.
