Amendment 1 gives us the right to do so? Why doesn't the gov does?

I assume you are talking about gay marriage. I support it, even though I am straight and come from a Christian background. I don't see why any two people who love eachother shouldn't be allowed to make a lifelong commitment to eachother. I think the reason it is being held back is because of the influence of conservative religious groups on government.

I suppose you read that in the first amendment right next to it's prohibited having anything relating to religion anywhere near government property.

gay marriage is wrong and morbid i don't get the whole gay thing i think people are gay cause they can't get a member of the opposite sex. i also think they should not be allowed to have kids. the kids will grow up confused. so no gays should be married it is sacred and letting them get married is like slapping god in the face and saying you were wrong when you created adam and eve.
