Some good places to do geneology research:
Start with your immediate family and find out everything they know.
Then check places like...
Denver Public Library (any big city library might do. I just know my mom's gotten tons of work done in Denver). http://www.denverlibrary.org/
LDS church - they've got tons of records.

I have no idea if this one is legit, but it came up when I did a quick search:

Good luck! Geneology is really cool!

I've often wondered about that myself because my grandparents were Cherokee. I think it helps to know how much your grandparents or parents were, either full or half or a quarter native american. My grandparents were 3/4, my dad was probably half so I guess I'm 1/4?? I'll have to keep an eye on this question to see if anyone comes up with the answer. Good luck!

Okay if your great-grandmother was full that would make your grandmother half, then your mother 1/4, so that would make you 1/16. I think, well what ever half of 1/4 is. That is how much you are. Think of it as a pie chart.

My best suggestion would be to construct a Family Tree to find out exactly how much Native American blood you have running thru your veins.
Good Luck - It's a fun journey discovering who your ancestors are and who, in turn, you are.

I know through my geneology, but I've been told you can actually do DNA testing for this, the father of my kids was gonna do it so we could get them enrolled into my tribe. (of course, he never did, it cost about $500).
