Someone writing a PhD dissertation on Plath charted her periods of madness with her menstruel cycle & found that she probably wasn't mad -- just suffering from extreme PMS. The sadness is that if she were born 20 years later, there would have been medication that would have saved her.

So -- I am assuming that current incarnations of Sylvia Plath are well adjusted housewives in suburban Boston who take their pills and wish they had troubles to write about while prior incarnations would include shrews and witches.
