For toyota highland V6 owners, do you know what's the mileage if you include a rooftop cargo?

Yes, it does because A.) You have added weight and weight is always a factor but more importantly B.) you are increasing the wind resistance and resistance is Work and Work is energy. At low speeds it probably wouldn´t be a problem but over 45mph or so it will begin to cause a lot of drag.

You may want to re-state your question. But I think I know what you mean and the answer is yes and maybe. Yes if your going over about 30-35 MPG and maybe if your traveling at a lesser speed.

no it does not take out gas but you would use a little more with a heavy load weather it people or cargo

Yes it will increase you fuel consumption by a huge amount.Try to get all your stuff inside.
