ok...a few facts first. they were armed with Boxcutters, in case you don't know what a boxcutter is or what it can do..I can assure you...a brand new boxcutter can slice your throat in one clean move..from ear to ear..

Second, no, the pilots were not armed. Hence the debate immediately following the 911 attacks about allowing pilots to carry handguns in the cockpits..most do now.

Next, The cockpit doors, pre-911 were relatively easy to break down...no major security reinforcements at that time.

Why wouldn't the people have risen up and attempted to take back control of the plane...well let's see...if some rampaging maniacs with razor sharp box cutters stood up...murdered the flight attendant by slitting her throat right in front of you and claimed to have a bomb on board...what do you think you would do..?

Go all Bruce Lee on them or pee yourself? My guess is the second option...anyone with a bit of knowledge in psychology will tell you..people are basically sheep...mustering their collective will...is an almost impossible task despite what you might have seen in the movies...

They did not "sneak aboard" they all had valid plane tickets and passports except for several men who were turned away from the airport that day due to the suspicion of a security guard who noticed one of the men acting rather nervous..Upon being turned away...security cameras show several other men, then gathering their belongings and walking away as well...this may or may not have been a 5th group that was supposedly going to crash another plane into the White House.

the hijackings did not occur in such a fashion as to be deemed "precisely timed"...if you recall, the flight patterns did not become immediately recognized as erratic, creating a lag between the time when flight control realized there was a problem and when the planes began smashing into the Towers and The Pentagon. Any number of problems could have gone wrong with communications on board or in the towers that would make the operator think there was a malfunction of some sort...long before they would have assumed a terrorist threat...You have to remember, we used to live in a time (Sept. 10th) when such an attack was inconceivable...Naive.? yes...but welcome to America...our ignorance is our bliss...

Was 911 a conspiracy...well..it's certainly possible...as is most everything...is it plausible? Perhaps...it would certainly help to facilitate the "high alert", do anything under the guise of National Security (including invading a country that was in no way involved) landscape that we currently live in.

And by the by...the hijackers were not "Iraqi"...nine out of the 14 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia...

it's hard to imagine how quickly the American people forget the facts or allow the facts to become skewed after some talking head regurgitates opinions...but again...our ignorance is truly our bliss...

buy a copy of the 911 Commision's Report...

oh...and you don't "activate" a transponder...the transponder gives the plane's location at all times..there was/is no "terrorist button" that tells flight control "Hey, uh..were being hijacked..."

It would seem terribly ignorant to assume that given their training...(see Afghanistan, CIA, 1980's, Flight Training - Florida) that they wouldn't be able to rush the cockpit, kill the pilots and assume control of the plane in a matter of seconds....

No guns were allowed in the cockpit at that time. 5 guys on each plane with box cutters, and the doors to the cockpit were flimsy.
When you look at the wreckage in Pennsylvania you see why people are a little reluctant to fight back. They could not fathom a plane flying into a building, just like those of us on the ground that day, but a bigger reality is looking out the window and seeing the ground 30,000 feet below you or knowing that if the razor blade cuts you that you are dead.

Y'all a bunch of morons. The gentleman is asking how ALL four planes were hijacked.

Do you not get it?

I believe it to be impossible. The gov't would have you believe these hi jackings was ONE event. They were FOUR SEPERATE events. Like hell, some dudes with box cutters went 4 for 4 hijacking planes on the SAME day.

THINK about it people.

You don't think atleast one of the pilots would have had a chance to activate the transponder to let the authorities know they were being hi jacked?

You don't think atleast one of the crews and passengers on the planes would have fought back against dudes with box cutters? THINK...boy you people are dumb!

4 for 4....use your head! Stop the brainwashing! These hi jackings were not ONE event. They were FOUR SEPERATE events that were all succesful? Think about it...you people are so naive.

As these were four separate events that just so happened to occur at the same time, they had to have had an inside person helping them take over these planes. What else can explain the pilots not reacting, how did they get in the control room-many unexplained occurances---makes you want to say hmmmmm!

Security was very lax at the time. They took over the crew and passengers with box cutters, which are basically razor blades with a handle.

This question is an insult to everyone with a brain, you "the genius" who asked the question, needs to get one, two if needed.

To the people who reply, learn how to spell. At least go to www.dictionary.com and learn something, they have many words which some of you could use.

With respect to all of people who harmed in 9/11 events, All of those events were suspicious.
I can't believe some ordinary people like "Talebans" and their group "Al-Qaede" could do those attackes in 9/11.
I think the real story should be different.

For many years High Jacking meant a trip to a less than friendly county and a lot of cool stories to tell friends. Pilots and Air crews were told not to fight back it was thought dangerous to do so...believe me that kind of passivity would no longer happen..and no fight crews aren't armed or trained for combat that is what air Marshall's do..

They used box cutters, which is nothing more than a razer blade stuck in a piece of metal 3 inches long
