That's not true. You can call him now and make an appointment. As soon as possible is better for you and your baby.

Doctors like to wait to see you until you are 10-12 weeks along. By then the pregnancy is well established and your threat of miscarriage drops significantly, not only that but until then, it's very hard to pick a heartbeat up. You should call your doctor now and make your first prenatal appointment. Sometimes you will see a nurse first and they will go over everything that is going to happen and set up a schedule for your appointments. They will also give you reading material and some samples of pernatal vitamins. I would suggest starting your prenatals now!! You can take over the counter ones, they are the same as the ones they prescribe. Take care of yourself and make sure you get to all your appointments!!

You don't have to be 10 days late for the doctor to see you. There are pregnancy tests out there that can detect pregnancy up to 5 days before your expected period.
My doctor said that there are never false positives on pregnancy tests, only false negatives. So, you are pregnant and you should make an appointment ASAP. They will tell you when they want you to come in.
When I got pregnant they wanted to wait until I was 8 weeks along. It is different for everyone depending on their particular health issues.
Congratulations!

No, its not true. I found out when I was just 4 days late. If the test is positive and you feel its correct, go in for a blood and urine test. Normally the doctor dosen't see you before 8 weeks but you can try.

Most doctors don't even want to see you for your first prenatal visit until the beginning of your second trimester (at about the fourth month). There's really nothing they can do for you up until that point.
You can, however, make an appointment with your OB to have a blood pregnancy test. That will confirm if you are, in fact, pregnant. Then you can schedule your first official appointment.

You can see your doctor as soon as you find out you're pregnant. You don't have to wait for anything (unless if you live in some countries where they won't let you see the doctor not until a specific time - I just found out about this from a friend living in a foreign country). It is best to make that first appointment as soon as possible so that you and your growing fetus can get the best prenatal care.

If an over the counter pregnancy test indicates that you are pregnant, then it is soon enough to call a doctor and make an appt. The earlier you seek medical attn. the better care you and your unborn child will receive. Don't hesitate. New tests are being used that can detect pregnancy sooner and more accurately constantly.

I would make an appointment with your doctor if the tests are showing a positive result that means your body is already producing the pregnancy hormone.Congratulations!

I think as soon as that pregnancy test rang positive you should have been on the phone with your doctor trying to make an appointment to confirm it and to start your prenatal vitamins. You need to calm down, breathe and start taking care of your baby by going to the doctor.

Honey, you're pregnant. Make an appointment right away. One so he can confirm it...my husband didn't believe it either until the doctor said so...even though I had peed on a half a dozen tests and they all came back positive...
So if you just have to hear it from the doctor...go in and let him tell you...but you're pregnant. lol...
You have to go in anyway, the earlier you can get started on your prenatal care, the better.
Congratulations!
