You may be overweightt. For my last pregnancy I was overweigh and I had high blood pressure and that was the cause. Just eat healthy and wait until your next visit to your doctor.

I'm sure you will be just fine. The first time I went in and had mine checked it was high also, the Dr wasn't too concerned since I don't have a history of high blood pressure. The next time I went in it was showing high also, it was a different nurse and I had mentioned that it happened the last time I was there. She found a bigger cuff and tried that, then it was fine. There could be errors made when getting your blood pressure taken so don't stress about it. And if it does turn out to be high again your Dr will know what to do. This not uncommon when you get pregnant, just listen to your Dr. Good Luck!

It could be a one time deal. Sometimes caffiene, stress, or medicine like sudafed can cause elevated blood pressure. When I was pregnant, my blood pressure was elevated once. The next visit, I was fine. Your doctor is doing the right thing by checking it again. It could be a one time thing, or you may have a little problem. If your blood pressure is high at the next visit, there are things that the doctor can do to help. Chances are, it is a one time deal, though.

I have ten years experience in OB/GYN. It could be a one time thing. However, what they are doing is very CONSERVATIVE. (they are being extra cautious and making sure they do not over look anything so that your baby is NOT harmed!!)
they also check your urine and weight for important things. protein and excessive weight gain WITH high blood pressure (the number on the bottom is over 90 consistently) are signs of preeclampsia. diet and exercise can help change this as well as bed rest and a non stressful home life. ALL easier said than done!!
Just make sure you're doing some walking every day and don't eat EXTRA salty foods! Drink a gallon of water every day and your baby and you will be fine!!!!! but keep your appointment!!

High blood pressure (aka: hypertension) is never "healthy", but keeping your blood pressure "normal" during pregnancy is paramount. A one-time high reading doesn't mean that it is going to stay high. Always feel free to ask your doctor these questions. After all, you are paying the bill, you and your child's health is at stake, and you have the right to question medical treatment! Make sure you keep your appointments and have your blood pressure checked regularly. It can save you a lot of trouble in the long run. PS...make SURE you follow diet recommendations...like low salt and no "cokes and caffeine". They can raise your blood pressure significantly. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

High blood pressure is always a concern but your doctor seems on top of it. There is the possibity of "white coat" high BP caused by being anxious at the doctors office. Just keep an eye on it and you'll be fine. It could have been a one time thing. Relax and good luck to you & baby.

High blood pressure is always a bit of a concern. If your BP was just a bit higher than normal, you might have just been nervous. Avoid caffiene and have them check it again. If I were you I'd also get a home BP monitor so that you can check it everyday yourself. High blood pressure is always something you should be on top of, especially if you're pregnant. If they decide that you have it, they might decide to put you on medication to control it and they'll monitor your pregnancy more closely.

It could easily be a one time thing. I wouldn't be concerned now, wait until they check you again and discuss you fears with your doctor. They don't want it to harm your baby either, which is why they are checking you so closely. Let them do "their thing", but don't be afraid to ask any question that comes to your mind. That's what you pay them big bucks for, and they are always glad to have a patient who is pro-active about the situation.

You should'nt be concerned, just do what the doctor says, and try to stay as calm and cool as you can, avoid eating fried foods, drink lots of water, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Also stay stress free, because be stressed could cause problems. Just take it easy, and don't worry, your baby will be perfectly fine. Oh, and take your prenatal vitamins daily. Good luck

Higher blood pressure than usual won't harm your baby as long as it' not extreme. I wouldn't worry about that.
