The Gonzales-Alavrez house in St. Augustine, Fla. was often listed as the oldest house in America, but only dates to “early in the 18th century”. “The Oldest House in America” is found across from the Mission San Miguel in Santa Fe New Mexico. Portions of it date from 1610. As with all adobe structures, the walls have been patched and replaced constantly, so how much of the building actually dates to 1610 is open to question. The Palace of the Governors, also in Santa Fe, may also be dated to the same time, and is listed as “the oldest public building in America”. But it was also a residence, if an official one. It, too, is adobe, so it might be more accurate to refer to the site rather than the building as “the oldest”.
The Fairbanks house in Dedham, Mass. was built in 1637 and may be the oldest surviving timber frame house in the U.S.
The Bach house, Beverly, Mass, makes the same claim with the same date.
The Hendrickson House, originally in Chester, Penn. And now in Wilmington, Del. was built in 1690 and may be the oldest stone house in America. The Pickering House in Salem, Mass. was built in 1657 (or ’51 depending on source) and is the oldest house in America continuously occupied by the same family. The main house of Shirley Plantation, Virginia was only completed in 1738, but the plantation has remained in the same family since 1638. It is still a working farm and therefore (probably) the oldest family business in America.
The Tuttle farm of Dover Point, New Hampshire has been in the same family since “1640 or before”. Some sources quote 1632, but it is not as well documented as Shirley.

If you want consider a building that was not originally built in the USA, then the oldest building would be the The Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux.
It is located in Miami Beach and was built from 1131-1141 AD. It was purchased by William Hearst and disassembled and shipped to the USA. Eventually it was reassembled in Miami Beach.
