Skype's the best service for calling to non-PC connected phones (i.e. normal telephone).
I have put some money into the SkypeOut service and have been paying the local rates of the country I'm calling to although I live in Colombia!!!
If your friend has a PC and installed Skype, it is FREE!!!
By the way, when I call Singapore, Melbourne or London, I always get clearer calls than those I get when using the Colombian telecommunications.

Skype is the best. Its free 2 download, and fone ne1 hu has it, u can get accessories so it's like a normal fone, and for a while US to US call r free i think.
