In our office network, we use both Macs and PCs. Turns out the printer I need connects via USB to a Mac, and I have a PC. I can't connect to the printer on the Mac.

Most LAN settings on both systems allow network printer sharing. It may require your IT to set up a scripting program, or replace the printer.
The printer should be connected to the main server system or enabled as used by all OS in the office. It better have a good chunk of memory, because it will be slow.
