Since you asked for a GUYS perspective, here it is. Abortion is legal- so a woman has a right to have one. It is also the intentional distruction of human life without cause (act of war, conviction, mortal self-defense). There are many things that are legal and immoral, but ultimately, this one is the most horrible. Contraception is readily available at your local grocery store, as is choosing not to have sex if you are not ready to raise a child. There is no reason for anyone to get pregnant (other than rape or incest) and kill the growing child. But since the child is dependent on it's mother to survive outside of the womb prior to the last trimester, it is considered part of the woman's body, and she has a right to "abort," "terminate the pregnancy," "kill the child." It is a horrible legal situation, but law can never create morality. I wish more people would choose contraception or abstinence. And contrary to popular excuses, you can obtain 100% pregnancy prevention. You just have to be responsible. The man MUST wear a condom (with spermacide) and the woman MUST use her own form of protection (the pill, IUD, etc.) If you're still too sacred and not ready to raise a child or give it up for adoption, then you shouldn't be having sex.

I wasn't sure if you meant males only or not since you said guys but anyway I thought I'd respond.Abortion is a very personal choice for the woman. Society seems to feel that the woman became pregnant by herself and therefore must pay a penalty for having a sexual relationship with someone. I realize that the female is the one who is taking the most risk since she can become pregnant. All birth control is not fool proof. If the female is not protected for her sexual encounters ,even once, she may become pregnant. The male ,on the other hand, can have sex without the same life altering accountability. He can have unprotected sex, say whatever he wants to satisfy his urges and just walk away from the consequences. Why don't males feel the need to prevent unwanted pregnancies just like a female .I am prochoice.I think all babies should be loved and wanted and in a perfect world that is how it would be..In a perfect world both partners would share equal responsibility for planned/unplanned pregnancies. As of today the man can unzip and zip up his pants with no more thought than changing his socks. How many children are being raised in single parent homes. Where is the father? How can forcing a female to carry a baby to full term going to promote the woman to ensure she has proper prenatal care? Will the courts take further control of the female's body and confine her to a government facility and make sure she takes care of herself and the unborn bay? What "penalty " does the man pay for his participation in an unplanned pregnancy? It appears his life is not altered whatsoever.I do not think any woman should routinely use abortion as an alternative to both partners using birth control, At the end of the day ,right or wrong, abortion should still remain the choice of the female.

Abortion as a whole is a difficult subject. The truth is that abortions should be allowed just as having free will to have unprotected sex. The reality is that if a young girl becomes pregnant she is the one with the stigma not the guy. There are scenarios where by the female has been attacked and an abortion is acceptable, but when a young girl or woman partakes in sexual intercourse because she decided to she must be punished by having an unwanted child. The reality is that having children is selfish and the only reason why we do is to express love not lust and internal desires. In short abortion right to choose.

Abortion is wrong. The only possible way I personally could condone it would be if the girl was raped. My opinion is that a life is a life no matter what stage it is in. If you don't want the child you should not have had sex in the first place. There are millions of people that cannot have children who are willing to pay the hospital bills, etc for a chance to adopt. Abortion is never the answer to someone problem.

I don't believe in abortion. Read this:
Abotion information you can use
Gianna Jessen
Testimony of abortion survivor Gianna Jessen before the Constitution Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee on April 22, 1996.
My name is Gianna Jessen. I am 19 years of age. I am originally from California, but now reside in Franklin, Tennessee. I am adopted. I have cerebral palsy. My biological mother was 17 years old and seven and one-half months pregnant when she made the decision to have a saline abortion. I am the person she aborted. I lived instead of died.
Fortunately for me the abortionist was not in the clinic when I arrived alive, instead of dead, at 6:00 a.m. on the morning of April 6, 1977. I was early, my death was not expected to be seen until about 9 a.m., when he would probably be arriving for his office hours. I am sure I would not be here today if the abortionist would have been in the clinic as his job is to take life, not sustain it. Some have said I am a "botched abortion", a result of a job not well done.
There were many witnesses to my entry into this world. My biological mother and other young girls in the clinic, who also awaited the death of their babies, were the first to greet me. I am told this was a hysterical moment. Next was a staff nurse who apparently called emergency medical services and had me transferred to a hospital.
I remained in the hospital for almost three months. There was not much hope for me in the beginning. I weighed only two pounds. Today, babies smaller than I was have survived.
A doctor once said I had a great will to live and that I fought for my life. I eventually was able to leave the hospital and be placed in foster care. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a result of the abortion.
My foster mother was told that it was doubtful that I would ever crawl or walk. I could not sit up independently. Through the prayers and dedication of my foster mother, and later many other people, I eventually learned to sit up, crawl, then stand. I walked with leg braces and a walker shortly before I turned age four. I was legally adopted by my foster mother's daughter, Diana De Paul, a few months after I began to walk. The Department of Social Services would not release me any earlier for adoption.
I have continued in physical therapy for my disability, and after a total of four surgeries, I can now walk without assistance. It is not always easy. Sometimes I fall, but I have learned how to fall gracefully after falling 19 years.
I am happy to be alive. I almost died. Every day I thank God for life. I do not consider myself a by-product of conception, a clump of tissue, or any other of the titles given to a child in the womb. I do not consider any person conceived to be any of those things.
I have met other survivors of abortion. They are all thankful for life. Only a few months ago I met another saline abortion survivor. Her name is Sarah. She is two years old. Sarah also has cerebral palsy, but her diagnosis is not good. She is blind and has severe seizures. The abortionist, besides injecting the mother with saline, also injects the baby victims. Sarah was injected in the head. I saw the place on her head where this was done. When I speak, I speak not only for myself, but for the other survivors, like Sarah, and also for those who cannot yet speak ...
Today, a baby is a baby when convenient. It is tissue or otherwise when the time is not right. A baby is a baby when miscarriage takes place at two, three, four months. A baby is called a tissue or clumps of cells when an abortion takes place at two, three, four months. Why is that? I see no difference. What are you seeing? Many close there eyes...
The best thing I can show you to defend life is my life. It has been a great gift. Killing is not the answer to any question or situation. Show me how it is the answer.
There is a quote which is etched into the high ceilings of one of our state's capitol buildings. The quote says, "Whatever is morally wrong, is not politically correct." Abortion is morally wrong. Our country is shedding the blood of the innocent. America is killing its future.
All life is valuable. All life is a gift from our Creator. We must receive and cherish the gifts we are given. We must honor the right to life.

I'd like to warn you that my opinion about abortion is based on reason, and very few people approach the abortion debate using reason. For most people, it's an emotional debate fueled by guilt. The emotions on the issue tend to run so deeply most people forget which is which. So I do apologize for any hurt feelings which result from my dealing with abortion reasonably.
I support a woman's right to have control over their reproductive capacity. Abortion does not affect citizens (a person is not a citizen until they are born) or the intrinsic assets of the nation, so there is no legislative basis for there to be any laws taking rights away from a citizen (the pregnant woman)
Furthermore, abortion is not murder. Murder is the willful taking of one human's life by another human. I've seen pictures, and the fetus might look vaguely human, but physiologically a fetus is more like a salamander than a human. I know that sounds harsh, but there's also a degree to which deep down you know that it's true.
Neurologically, the child isn't complete until it's a year old, and continues developing for about 25 years. So while it's still in the womb, it's certainly not a developed human. It's a part of our natural development for the brain to be undeveloped at birth because otherwise the head could never have fit through the opening.
I asked the question "What makes humans distinct from other animals?" I received many interesting answers: The awareness that we are different from other animals, the ability to make rational decisions, the ability to suppress our animal nature, the ability to conceptualize good and evil, large brains, the ability to create art, the ability to question one's existence, speech, self improvement, and so on. At a glance, it's fairly obvious that a fetus does not have any of these qualities. In doing further research, I came across this website which I strongly recommend: http://7e.devbio.com/article.php?id=162
A fetus has the potential of becoming human, but being human is a very special thing. It's more than just a matter of our genetic make-up. It's about the way we think. Without the way we think, we are like any other animal.
Given that most people believe in the existence of a soul, It becomes an issue to consider when a person gets a soul. If you believe that only humans have souls, then the fetus doesn't have one because it's not yet human. It has the potential to become human, but it's not there yet. If you believe that all creatures have souls, then it goes to wherever souls go. If you believe in Karma, then that life served a purpose which it was there to do and can karmically celebrate that it's life accomplished what it was destined to accomplish.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want anyone to think that I'm advocating killing babies. Babies are cute and respond well to people, kinda like puppies, and I am also opposed to killing puppies. In fact I have often been very supportive of all things child related and puppy related. But when it comes right down to it, and we consider the neural biology, certain facts become apparent. But I want to make it very clear that I am in no way advocating infanticide, which is much nicer than the bible which doesn't even mention infanticide despite the fact that it was commonly practiced at the time. In fact, until about a hundred years ago, I can't recall this ever having been much of an issue ever in the history of the world. But now, as infant mortality rates are at an all time low, and population is soaring out of control, now is the time in human evolution when people decide to stand up and say that abortion is wrong.
Christians claim to take truth from the bible, and the bible makes no reference to abortion or infanticide. In fact the closest thing to a reference is in Exodus 21:22 to the punishment if a man does violence to a pregnant woman causing her to lose the child, which is different from the punishment for murder as described in Exodus 21:12, which clearly indicates that the basis for popular religious thought for the Judeo-Christian-Muslim traditions did not intend for the killing of a fetus to be regarded as murder. But this is a religious view point, and not a secular viewpoint, so it out not have any influence over the law.
I know there is a lot in here which some people will react against, because I'm dealing with the topic frankly, openly and head on. That's not the way people usually deal with the abortion debate. They hide behind images of something cute and say, "It's a defenseless innocent human, how could you kill it." I have learned that it's generally a good idea to to be wary of people who's only rationale is guilt. I'm not hiding behind any feeling based arguments but instead dealing with the actual issues. Feelings are too easily manipulated. Just ask anyone who works in marketing. But the facts are the facts and when people get over their feelings on the issue and stop listening to people trying to retain their positions and relevance by convincing people that this is actually a reasonable issue, then maybe we could move on and deal with all the real issues which we were distracted from because of this bogus abortion debate. Like for instance, why is it that there have been major advances in everything for the past 50 years, but we're still stuck with the same corrupt politicians?

I think its BullS***..Why? Because your murdering an innocent child. Why cant they just give the baby up for adoption, there is alot of people trying to have babies and they cant. I know some abortioners are rape victims but the baby has no fault. Once again thats messed up but there is one who judges at the end of life and thats god and all debts will be paid.
