Hello Paige, my wife and I have talked about this before. We have almost all of the "important" things in common. At least they are important to us. How we raise our Daughter, how we both make an effort to keep our marriage fresh and happy things like this. What we don't have in common is things like music, movies, books. But we both make an effort to appreciate these things because the other person enjoys them.
As long as your both happy and in love, that is the most important thing. Just talk to each other and stay positive. If you can do this, your differences won't matter too much.
Good question

We have soooooooooooooo much in common that we always have something to talk about. And we have just enough not in common to be individuals. :)

Common: our beliefs, our ways of keeping the house and doing things, our love to walk with each other and do fun and interesting things together, we like almost all the same foods, spend time with his teen daughters, spend time with friends and family, some music, how to deal with his ex wife, types of cars and homes we like, most movies, most TV shows, like to play board games, deep love of our families

Uncommon: some foods, types of things we each collect (he collects model trains, erector sets, and slot cars; I collect unicorns, bells, swans, dolphins, and books), most music (he is 13 years older than me so he likes a lot of music that I don't like and vice versa), a few movies (he really likes westerns; I like some of them), some TV shows (I like most newer shows; he likes a lot of documentary shows)

He likes to go to train shows throughout the year. I will go to a couple of them a year and usually take someone with me (I know a 10 year old and 11 year old that loves those things). He goes to things with me even if he doesn't like them or has never been to them before. We do these things to spend time together. I have even gone to work with him (he works on a farm) just so we could spend time together!
