A lot depends on the size of the boat, your size, and if you are using one ski or two skis. If you are average sized, a 14'-16' boat with about a 40 HP engine will work fine for 2 skis. For 1 ski, I would recommend AT LEAST a 60 HP motor, if not more. In my opinion, these recommendations would be the MINIMUM requirements. I hope this helps you! Have fun!!

If you know how the Ski already it not take much. We have actually Skied (Two ski) behind a Flat Bottom with a 10 hp. We have Bare Foot behind a 65 hp.

Very little to ski, You need the HP to pull the skier up and out of the water. Its all relitive, bigger the boat more HP one or two skis, Two is easier to pull out, etc.
