Ok, I have Avast and it has been warning me when a virus is on my computor. One of them was named, Win32 Trogan 1165. At the same time I am having multiple windows opening up. I have both Internet Explorer and Firefox, but have been using firefox for some time now. I am able to get rid of the virus by moving it to the chest in Avast and then deleting it but another one then comes back later. I don't have money to spend to get rid of this. I need something FREE. Please Help!!!!

I have Ad-Aware, xoftspy, spybot, cw shredder and ccleaner and I run them all. I have not ran Avast in Safe mode though. Could someone give me step by step how to do this. Thanks!

Have you tried running Avast while in Safe Mode?

When Windows initially boots up, press F8. This will bring up a screen that allows you to select Safe Mode. That means that Windows will boot without any settings or other software running, so it might look strange. Then run Avast. Let me know if that helps.

You can also try Microsofts free spyware remover (Windows Defender) and malicious software removal tool

Other free tools to try are A-squared, spyware blaster, ad-aware. All of them can be downloaded from download.com

After you have done all of that, keep in mind you may still have to reinstall windows or do a reformat.
