When I was 8 my school gave us those small carpet squares you can buy at Wal-Mart for under $5. We all put paint on our hands and painted a picture for our fathers on Father's Day...My dad still has his almost a decade later. His has a yellow duck on it because we had a duck stencil.

Give them magazines and catalogs. Let them cut out pictures of everything they would like to give Daddy. Then help them make a little booklet/card by pasting the pictures on card stock or other heavy paper. Let them draw a picture on the page that will be the cover. Take 'dictation' from them and/or help them write their message on it. Punch two holes in the covers--back and front--put a ribbon thru it and tie it.
My dad (kids' grampa) still has the one my kids made him!! My kids are almost grown now.

this is what I want to do for my dad cuz he has to wear ties to work everyday, my kids are 2 and 1... I saw in an ad that you can put pictures of your kids on a tie for $20... if dad doesn't wear ties, you could do a mug, t-shirt, keychain whatever...
